Outpatient rehabInsight Recovery Center believes that healing starts from within and that a mindfulness-based approach provides the best chance of healing and attaining a life of sobriety. Our holistic, integrative approach treats every client as a unique individual with specific needs and challenges and is the best way to discover your recovery.

Our skilled staff will assess you and recommend a personalized treatment plan that considers one of our levels of care. From the least intensive and demanding to the most, they are:

  • Intensive outpatient therapy (IOP)
  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP)

It is also possible to move from one level of care to another. The outpatient rehab therapy program offers the most significant degree of flexibility for clients with work, family, or school obligations but who still require a bit of structure and accountability to maintain recovery. What Is an Outpatient Program for Addiction?

An OP is a form of outpatient therapy and a specific level of care provided by an addiction treatment center. As the name implies, it is not a residential program, although it often follows detox and inpatient rehab.

An outpatient program (OP) is the least intensive addiction treatment program with respect to time commitment. It provides limited structure and accountability so clients can confidently go about living a life of recovery. Treatment and activities are scheduled that address a client’s individual needs and could include weekly group meetings of shared support and accountability or sessions with a therapist.

Outpatient treatment programs provide a flexible and affordable treatment option for many. This allows people to maintain work, school, family, or community obligations. The main difference between an outpatient program (OP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP) is the time and commitment required. Overall, an OP provides less structure and guidance.

What to Expect During Outpatient Rehab in North Carolina

At Insight Recovery Center, we take a holistic approach to healing based on mindfulness. We employ a variety of therapeutic modalities that incorporate both evidence-based and more holistic practices.

Our scenic location in the North Carolina mountains creates an ideal environment for integrative healing and self-reflection. We utilize these natural surroundings in various therapeutic approaches in conjunction with typical evidence-based therapies. We believe that the traditional system of addiction treatment is archaic and in desperate need of revision.

At Insight Recovery Center, we put that belief into practice as we empower you to discover your recovery by tailoring your treatment plan to your specific needs.

Some of the evidence-based and holistic therapies we employ include:

  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Adventure therapy
  • Somatic experiencing
  • Trauma therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Meditation
  • Yoga

A significant benefit to OP treatment is that patients can practice all the skills and concepts learned during their treatment and get feedback immediately from their regular daily lives, producing behavioral changes that instill confidence.

Can You Benefit from an Outpatient Program?

An OP can offer significant benefits to clients who live a life of recovery and handle triggers and temptations but need a bit of support. Those patients more likely to benefit from outpatient rehab have:

  • A mild to moderate addiction
  • A robust support system of friends and family members
  • A motivation to attend regular counseling sessions
  • Slight risk of severe withdrawal with medical complications
  • Transportation to get to and from treatment sessions

However, outpatient therapy may not be suitable for individuals who need more structure, support, and accountability in their lives. People who may not be a good fit for outpatient therapy have:

  • Severe or multiple addictions
  • Poor support systems
  • Co-occurring mental health or medical conditions
  • Risk of complicated withdrawal or a history of complicated withdrawal
  • Dropped out of outpatient rehab before
  • A history of relapse
